PUPILS from Little Parndon School in Harlow took a stand against bullying on Friday.

As part of Anti-Bullying Day all pupils at the school on Park Mead wore blue clothes and donated £1 to Children in Need to do so.

At 11am, all 14 members of the School Council joined other schools around Essex to release a number of blue balloons to signify the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Right of the Child.

Rebecca Brown, PHSE co-ordinator who organised the event, said: "We decided to do this today because we strongly support six core values in this school, two of which, respect and responsibility, link in with the Right of the Child."

Head boy at the school, year six pupil Jamie O'Flanagan, said: "We are all wearing blue clothes to help support anti-bullying day and we are also raising money for Children in Need.
